The Blind Voter
Have you ever considered the blind voter and no I am not talking about people who are literally blind or sight challenged. You see, many people vote based on what they read in the newspaper or saw on the latest television show.
It is a known fact in smaller elections that the candidate who spends the most on television advertising usually wins the election by a larger margin. This just shows you that he who controls the media controls the minds of the people. Some people have said why should I vote? And of course the answer is or should I say the politically answer is; It Is Your Civic Duty.
Nevertheless, consider if 80% of the people don't think and they merely vote for what they saw on TV and let's say you know the truth about a candidate or a political issue your vote will still be washed out by the masses, which have surrendered their minds to their television and to the mass media hysteria which prevails.
Having been involved in politics in my past I found it very interesting how easy it is for a sleaze ball to get elected to a local city government and eventually move up to the county level and then the state level. Sometimes the same people would end up Congressman.
Knowing this and watching this fact over many years has disenchanted me to the point I no longer vote. Because even a good vote and a knowledgeable vote can be canceled out by someone who does not think or will not think and blindly follows the television set. Please consider this in 2006. And Don't Forget to Vote It Is Your Civic Duty!
